Forró do Galpao : Every Thursday

Every Thursday, from 06:30pm - Corbet Place - The Old Truman Brewery, 15 Hanbury st, E1 6QR (10 min. from Liverpool Street tube)

Forró - The Brazilian, now very much European, hip-swivelling, dance floor-filling, popular music and dance originated in Brazil’s north-eastern states. Spreading smiles and well being are common signs and symptoms identified on dancers.

It ranges from a slow rhythm called xote to a faster version called arrasta-pé.Simple put, "It's less competitive than salsa and less pedantic than tango..."
Traditionally, it’s a couple's dance and the music involves only three instruments (accordion, zabumba and a metal triangle).
